چکیده

We have developed an approach to detect and co"ect patient motion that occurs during SPECT imaging. The detection of patient motion is based on frame-to-frame matching, using phase-only matched .filtering (POMF). The co"ection procedure has been designed to co"ect any translational patient motion and alert the operator to other kinds of patient movement. The precision in co"ecting translational motion is less than 1 pixel in the axial direction and less than 2 pixels in the lateral direction. Experiments on phantom and patient data have demonstrated that our approach is a reliable, accurate, and sensitive method for detecting and co"ecting patient motion in SPECT imaging.

اصلاح حرکت در تصویربرداری اسپکت میوکارد با استفاده از مدل‌سازی منحنی چند جمله ای

Background and purpose: Patient motion during myocardial perfusion SPECT can produce artifacts in reconstructed images which might affect clinical diagnosis. This paper attempts to present a new approach for the detection and correction of cardiac motion utilizing the data obtained during the imaging process. Materials and methods: Our method quantifies motion through polynomial curves modelin...

Simulation and patient studies of scatter correction in cardiac SPECT imaging

Introduction: Myocardial perfusion imaging is a nuclear medicine imaging method that is used to detect coronary artery diseases. One of the main sources of error in this imaging method is the detection of Compton scattered photons in the photopeak energy window used for data acquisition. This results in the degradation of the image contrast, and therefore decreases the...

The influence of misregistration between CT and SPECT images on the accuracy of CT-based attenuation correction of cardiac SPECT/CT imaging: Phantom and clinical studies

Introduction: Integration of single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and computed tomography (CT) scanners into SPECT/CT hybrid systems permit detection of coronary artery disease in myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). Misregistration between CT and emission data can produce some errors in uptake value of SPECT images. The aim of this study was evaluate the influence...

Assessment of simulated patient motion and its effect on myocardial perfusion SPECT using two reconstruction methods (Filtered Backprojection;FBP and Iterative method) [Persian]

Introduction: Motion of the patient during myocardial perfusion SPECT could potentially results in false perfusion defects. The effect of different reconstruction methods on these artifacts is not studied. Clarification of the relation between the extent, severity and duration of motion with the resultant artifacts may be helpful in designing special soft wares for motion correction. This...

Comparison of transient ischemic dilation ratios in SPECT and SPECT-CT myocardial perfusion imaging in the low pre-test probability group

Introduction: The main purpose of this study was to compare transient ischemic dilation (TID) ratios in SPECT-low dose CT and SPECT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) by application of different quantitative programs and quantify the possible shift in the upper normal limits of TID ratio in the SPECT-CT MPI. Methods: 149 Patients with low pre-test probability for coronary artery disease (CAD),...
